Carpenter

Through excellent customer service and dedication performs small renovations, repairs, and improvements on framing, trim, sheetrock, roofing, windows and doors, cabinetry, furniture, decking, and concrete. The carpenter assists with storm response and emergencies off-hours as needed. Strive to provide a safe, reliable, and functional physical plant to carry forth the mission of the Academy.
Specific responsibilities ideally include:
  • Will maintain a Construction Supervisors license as required by state regulations to pull renovation and construction permits.
  • Works with and supervises outside contractors as required.
  • Will provide all own basic hand tools for carpentry trade work.
  • Must be proficient at operating all woodworking equipment safely.
  • Must have knowledge of residential construction and remodeling, trades practices, procedures.
  • Must be able to practice quality control, cost control, and safety on all projects.
  • Must be able to read and draw blueprints
  • Must be able to establish a material list and estimate project cost. Must be able to track cost and time and accurate at reporting this information.
  • Must be well rounded in carpentry skills.  Framing, finish carpentry, installation of windows, doors, roofing, flashing, and case goods.
  • Must be proficient at layout of framing and stairs.
  • Must be proficient at appropriate math skills for this trade.
  • Must be able to lift 75lbs.
  • Must be able to bend, squat, and turn without restriction.
  • Must be able to climb and work from ladders or lifts.
  • Will possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Will follow all policies set forth by the Academy.
 


Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
