Music Practice Opportunities

Cushing Summer Session encourages and supports all student-musicians who want to spend time practicing their instruments while on campus.

 

For students to maintain and improve skills, as well as to take advantage of the several opportunities during Summer Session to perform in front of the community, we understand that it is vitally important to have access to the school’s practice spaces.

 

Summer Session students can gain access to practice areas with permission from the Student Life Office. During free periods, or at times after school or on weekends, students can spend time practicing, studying, or even Skyping with their instructors back at home. Our music department has comfortable, clean, and private practice spaces located in our main academic building.

 

For piano players - We are proud to be a Steinway school and to offer access to these finely-made pianos for individual practice at various times throughout the week and on weekends.

 

For all other musicians - Students are encouraged to bring their own instrument when they travel to Cushing Summer Session. As this may present logistical challenges, we may be able to make instrument rental arrangements in the local area.

 

Any students who would like to practice their instrument while enrolled at Cushing Summer Session are encouraged to contact the Student Life Office upon arrival to campus. We will make all reasonable efforts to support the musical pursuits of our students during Summer Session.
